Discussion:
To commemorate the 1st anniversary of my premier trip report on SkierRoger I returned to the Mount Glasgow area (location of the original) exactly a year to the day+1 later.
On this occasion my associate José Jose came along to pose for photos and help document the proceedings. It was a successful and joyous outing!
We encountered first snow after less than 2hrs hiking.
Transitioned to skis and skins and had excellent travel on continous snow a short time later.
Glasgow Gully had rollerball debris so we carried on up the valley....
...to this slope....
...where turns were had.
I'm just sitting in my chair when a voice comes on the air -- Says "Why don't you try it? You'll feel all right! -- It's a great new brand of smokes -- Cool your head and clears your throat -- Keeps you young and so in touch!" -The Saints

A.T. - What's even more strange is that my Mom said I had a long-lost twin brother who was abducted by a Sasquatch wearing wolverine shoes!

Henry... well her mother's side of the family is French-Canadian but it wouldn't surprise me if they talk funny like that in Portugal too.
Mike.... the same birthday! What a bizarre coincidence! Are you in fact the long-lost twin brother that Mom claimed had been abducted by sasquatch on eSkis? I never believed her because at the time eSkis had yet to be invented.

A Toque - Thanks for finding that film. The Ides of July it is, especially since it's my birthday too!

Mike, OK, I'd settle for The Ides of July...it's my birthday!
Thanks for the link to the Helen Rennie story. Did some more googlesing and found a great film.
She's quite a gal but sure talks funny.

Aqua, I never had that Saints album, but loved the song from the moment I first heard it (1977?) and still do, but I hadn't heard it for years until it popped into mind when reading your report. Thanks-that's what I call "classic rock"! I do have their mid 80's album- All Fools Day, which contained the song Just Like Fire Would- covered by Bruce Springsteen of all people in 2014, which is quite the compliment to the Saints. RIP Chris Bailey.

...and I had to include a report on Scottish skiing to rectify A Toque's non-Scottish reference to Glasgow.

My comment was click-bait to start a discussion on when the 2022/23 season begins. A Toque suggests September 15. How about the first skiable snowfall after the end of July? Maybe we could even have a contest!

Thanks Steve. Yeah, I had that album. Coincidentally, whilst researching the background info for this report I came across the news that the front man from The Saints had passed away in April of this year at the age of 65.
Mike...first report of 22/23?!!...no, no, no...as Chuck points out above there is still lots left of 21/22. The change of season doesn't happen until The Ides of September.

Good work Toque. Got in some turns, and you didn't get stranded, far from home!

Based on the title, I was expecting a ski report from the Scottish Highlands! Is this the last report of the 2021/2 season or the first report of the 2022/3 season!?

Ah yes, I recall your first post on this website - Chronicles of the Obscure. Not enough snow at this time last year, but still a lovely bit of story telling. Technically, a much more successful trip this time around.
It seems that you transform into Aqua Hat in the off-season.
Never heard the Saint's before. Awesome!
Still, smoking is bad for you.
