This well packed route allows us to explore the backcountry in a safe environment.
Most skiers were heading into Skoki Lodge for the weekend, and start at Temple within the Lake Louise ski resort. Day users start at the Fish Lakes parking lot following the ski out. The ski out has not been groomed yet due to lack of snow but is actually a lot of fun (no hazards).

My light touring metal edged skis with VR40 kick wax was all I needed
Make sure to pop into the Halfway Hut, and read the history of how it is haunted by ghosts!

Temple and the Ten Peaks are seen beyond the Boulders
Snow has been well farmed here to facilitate crossing this windy pass
Stu and April head onto Ptarmigan Lake and will head up to Deception Pass as seen in the distance.
