Dad and I started at the Elk Pass parking lot at about 10am at -2 degrees. The grooming up the big hill was fast yet grippy, but descending the other side of the hill was very icy and I was holding on to dear life! The tracks going up Elk Pass were great and our skins worked perfectly. It started snowing in earnest by the time we reached Blueberry Hill junction, but luckily it was still cold enough that we didn't ice up (although the snow slowed the tracks down significantly!). Dad had some photography to do so he went up Elk Pass, and I had some sweating to do (apparently) so I skied/trudged up Blueberry Hill. BH: slow going but beautiful and peaceful as I was the first up there after the snowfall, and by the time I reached the top the snow had slowed and I got some nice views. The downhill was similarly slow but because the snow was nice and grippy the snowplowing was not difficult at all. EP: the new snow in the tracks made the descents tricky because the snow was more grabby. We decided to enjoy Fox Creek to get back to the parking lot, which was beautiful and had nice tracks that were full of springtime snow fleas. Back at about 12:20 and 3°.
