10.30am start at -3.

Start from Pocaterra Hut. Pulled in right behind some lovely travellers from Lethbridge. Second car at the trailhead.

Nice climb up Pocaterra and Come Along for the first few k. Older tracks. A little played out and sloppy, but perfectly serviceable.

After the Lynx junction, continued up Pocaterra, which became clumpier and warmer. By the 7k mark, it was basically walking with really tall (clumpy) skis on. Turned around at the 9k mark, as I was concerned that the effort being put out for further forward progress could lead to exhaustion on the way back.

This proved to be untrue, as it was much easier to glide back through the recently compressed snow.

Far from ideal conditions, but lovely to be out there, especially at this time of year. Do I regret the decision.. . Heck no. I am yet to get to the end of a ski, and think it was a mistake. Have you?
