Elk Pass - Partly Closed

Discussion:

Headed out to Elk Pass to take advantage of the fresh tracksetting. There's 3-5 cm of fresh snow on top of the grooming from a couple of nights ago. That was kind of a mixed blessing - it covered up any ice so we had traction, but it also kept grabbing in the warm spots. Luckily some (ok lots of) glide wax took care of the grabbing.

It turns out the Elk Pass trail is closed (until further notice) between the Hydroline junction and the Patterson junction due to avalanche risk. Rats. Ended up doing Fox, Moraine, and part of Hydroline. Temp was +3. Overall conditions were actually pretty good. Moraine was a lot softer than Fox.
