Discussion:

Banff park announced that the Pipestone loop was single track set yesterday, but it certainly deteriorated. When I came home, I checked if I was reading it correctly, and it was still there, a single track set on March 24. I guess that is what the spring weather does to the trails. We started up at 10 am on #20 blue and it was frozen solid and did not look like track set at all. Then we got to greens #22 and $23, and they were delightful, soft, with a bit of snow covering the tracks. After #23, we went a little farther on blue #20 and returned on greens #23, #22, #21. Very easy skiing the whole day, except the first two km. Great blue sky day with the clouds only on Mt Temple. +4 C at the car at 1.30

Dana,
You and Helen are reading the Parks Canada Trail Condition Report INCORRECTLY.
For dates of actual tracksetting, you have to refer to the paragraph at the top. The dates below only reflect when they have updated their condition report (not the tracksetting).
To be clear, Pipestone Loops were last trackset on March 17.

Thank you so much Chuck. Good we were reading it incorrectly today, otherwise we would not go there and it was actually very good. Great to know this for next time.
