-12 at 10 am and only warmed to -9 at 3pm, starting at Elk Pass. Met Ray and Mary at Blueberry Junction, where they were celebrating Ray reaching his 1000th km. CONGRATULATIONS RAY!!!! Wanted to tour and refresh the tracks though West Elk Meadows (brisk wind had done a job already on gh's tracks from yesterday), and skied breaking trail through the meadows to Hydroline, then up 2 kms to Elk Pass. Met Jeremy, our friendly Bragg Creek groomer atop Elk Pass and he was having a much more energetic ski. Enjoyed skiing through Patterson Meadows, and then back up to Hydroline to return to the car via Fox Creek. Who would have thought we'd still have amazing grooming and skiing mid April??? Thank you to all the groomers who make PLPP such a special place to ski.

So Helen, that was your track through West Elk. I was thinking that you were likely out and about. I skied down the powerline from Elk Pass and took the West Elk meadow route back north, after enjoying the fine grooming with a dusting of new on Elk-Hydroline-Lookout and Tyrwhitt. As Alf mentioned a few days ago- off trail travel on skinny skis is excellent in the area right now, and I (and others) took advantage today by looping around the various meadows of the upper bench towards Blueberry trail as well. Seems like the master builder has been absent lately, from the decrepit look of couch HQ which is rapidly disappearing.

About as clear as it got all day, in the West Elk Pass meadows.
