First tracksetting of season on the Moraine Lake Road

Myself, husband, mighty mountain Noah (age 12)

Discussion:

We planned to ski the Divide but quickly changed plans when we saw that the MLR had been freshly trackset for the first time this season. Two sets of tracks heading up, one set heading down.

We skied the full distance to the viewpoint before avalanche danger begins and turned around. 18km I believe round trip.

Snow got better the higher we went and a few bare sections of pavement were easily skied around. Fortunately they were all on the uphill side.

Be careful coming down near the bottom. Snow was getting thin by end of day.
