Cascade better than expected

I thought I would take a chance and try Cascade since it was so great two days ago. It was just above 0C at 10:15 and maybe a few degrees warmer when I finished up a few hours later. The way down to the meadow was another version of needlemania, and I thought of cashing in my chips as I started heading up the hilll. But I hung in there and it improved significantly as I climbed, following a trio of wolf tracks. By the top of the hill, it was fine and most of the plateau was really clean and fast. It even stayed clean beyond the first bridge through that section that often gets really messy before the long steady climb. The little steep pitch at the start of that section was the only icy spot I encountered the whole way. The return was wonderful and the conditions descending the big hill were actually pretty good. I skied 15 km overall, and it was great fun, although the first 1-2 km must be ignored! I think it will still be good tomorrow.
