A stunningly beautiful day at Kicking Horse Fire Road near Emerald. Temp was about -3, clear skies, nary a breath of wind. Tracks are deep, solid, and provided both great glide and great grip. Can't find anything negative to say about the tracks at all. A fair number of walkers, but they've all stayed in between the tracks. Except for a couple of moose. They either don't know, don't care, or don't remember about respecting the track setting. Refresher course needed...

I really like the work Parks Canada is doing on the Yoho trails. While the KHSC did a good job maintaining the trails, Parks Canada has brought them up to their standards. The Kicking Horse is now double trackset for almost the whole trail, and has been extended by another 100m or so, ending at a location with a nicer view.

Looking back to the trailhead and Cathedral

Lovely tracks

Disrespectful Moose...
