Skied Emerald Lake and the Alluvial Fan on Tuesday. It was a stunningly beautiful day, with temperatures floating around 0, no clouds in the morning, and a few later in the day, and no wind. I don't think I've ever skied there with better conditions.

Parks Canada is doing things a little differently - it appears they're not tracksetting on the lake (as the KHSC did), and they've got a slightly different (and I think better) trail routing at the north end. Overall, the tracks are in really good condition, people have walked on the tracks on the north shore, and along the lake itself. The east side of the Alluvial Fan trail is also blown in, but the skier tracksetting is just fine.

Denise, who runs the store said that they usually groom all the trails there on a Friday. We lucked out last Friday; by the time we'd emerged from the Lodge's excellent breakfast, they had groomed the Fan and by the time we'd skied Tally Ho to the old ski hill, they were starting on Kicking Horse. Glad to read so many reports of people enjoying this unique, special place. Take advantage of being able to drive down the road to the lake! Joe and Bruce from Field, and their small team of helpers deserve huge thanks for grooming those trails for the past several years. We all know how many fallen trees the Yoho Blow can create! Parks is doing a terrific job!
