In the Village, the peaceful Village....

Beginning at the Ribbon Creek parking lot, we took the fresh track set and corduroy up Hidden Trail to Nakiska. Nice crisp tracks, firm and fast. Backtracking to Ribbon Creek Trail, we skied west to the link across the bridge and up to Kovach. (There was a downhill section of Ribbon Creek Trail next to a steep hillside that was covered in rocks that had released from above. We spent some time removing rocks the size of marbles to golf balls from the trail, but some rocks were embedded and frozen in. Caution is advised.) After climbing up the link trail, we then bombed down Kovach and the connector back to the parking lot. After lunch in the Village Centre, we skied Terrace Link, Aspen and Lower Kovach back to the Village. Except for Hidden Trail and the connector to the parking lot, which were freshly tracked, all trails were older, but still in good condition. That is, except lower Kovach, which had been walked on by zillions of people, one of whom walked right in the tracks, which made for a less enjoyable downhill. We saw very few people today, mostly walkers. Sunny skies with a start temp of -12 and a finish at -5. Wax to start was V40, then switched to V45 after lunch.
