Checked out the Spray River trailhead first, but Don was not there! So, headed up to Lake Minnewanka, and still no Don!
The trailhead was ablaze with Fire Smart activities, burning wood piles.
VR45 kick wax worked perfectly, but one had to get there early... like the bird. And great to see Melverine, the Wolverine (sorry no picture).
Nice to chat with John and Richard at the first campground, who had decided to get off the messy highway at Banff... Good Choice.
 I understand Don has been seconded to help with Fire Smart... What has happened to Visitor Experience?!

 Lots of Pine Siskin flitting about
 The fresh snow in the tracks was very pleasant
 But eventually I had to return on my own tracks
 Low and behold... Late Comers!

I was wondering the same thing Chuck: if Don was OK, but perhaps it has to do with the Firesmart burning they are doing?

Visitor experience? Track skiing may not be a priority for Parks. But bring your hotdogs and enjoy the bonfires!
