We headed for the new grooming after the recent snowfall and were not disappointed. Probably the best I have seen the Elk Pass area. Parked at Boulton, then skied Moraine, Fox Creek, Elk Pass, Patterson, and Hydroline up to the table at the top. Returned via Elk Pass, Fox Creek and Moraine, with a side trip up Blueberry Hill. All these trails had fantastic tracksetting in clean fresh snow. We only came across a handful of pinecones, old man's beard, or other tree debris in the tracks all day. Great traction, but slower than usual coming back downhill.
Total distance: 25.00 Km
Fox Creek with the cleanest snow I have found there. Only TWO pinecones on top of the grooming, and not even in the tracks. Yes, I counted them because I was so surprised.
Elk Pass was in great shape.
As was Hydroline
And Blueberry Hill. Really clean snow and smooth corduroy, so didn't stop for photos on the quick way back.
