Lots of fresh snow at Ribbon Creek! But alas, lots of hot sun also.....
I started at the Village, mostly broke trail over Kovach, going clockwise, which was very slow as it soon warmed up and became quite sticky. Hoping for a nice run down the north side, I was disappointed to have an excessively sedate descent. At the bottom of the big hill, turned right, and at the Aspen junction came upon snowmobile tracks, which seemed to come up from Terrace and turn around there. It improved my speed quite a bit! The machine tracks turned off before the Village, but there were a few multi-use tracks to follow then.
There are two small trees down on Kovach, one at each end, not making a mess, just in the way.
On my return to the Village, the parking lot was overflowing, which was weird as I had not seen anyone else on the trails.
Total distance: 8.00 Km
Kovach - Aspen (upper) junction
Huge numbers of wildlife tracks today, of a great variety. Lots of lynx tracks at the top of Kovach
Not all fun and games on lower Kovach/Terrace
