Fairview (yesterday)

Oops, forgot to submit this yesterday. I thought I'd skied for the last time at Fairview last week, but when we saw how much snow had fallen over the last day or so, we decided to head back. Good choice! There was about 20cm of fresh snow at the Lake Louise upper parking lot. Broke trail to the main Fairview trail, where there was a skier trackset in pretty good condition.

Snow was thick enough that we didn't need to worry about the strong sun melting it. Temp was -2 when we started, and 0 when we finished a couple of hours later.

As expected, snow was soft and crunchy. Overall, the trail is softening so much that putting a lot of weight on the poles pushed through the grooming underneath.

Skied a bit on MLR - same conditions, but with the added bonus(?) of boot prints on the trail.

All in all, though, a great, bonus day.
