My quest for fresh powder was quickly quashed as I pulled into the parking lot early this morning to find only a scant few cm of new snow. I guess Lake Louise got it all?
I was the first one there, but the new snow was already tramped down by hikers. In fact, the Boom Lake trail is really more of a winter hiking trail now, so I wore my kicker skins all the way up and down, with no regrets.
There is a bit of messy "deadfall" at the "End of ski trail" sign, and the descent to the lake is quite treacherous on skis.
On my return, I met a group of hikers on their way up, but otherwise saw no one.
Total distance: 11.60 Km
First bridge from parking lot
Bit of deadfall at the sign
Wonky narrow tracks
Other side of deadfall section
