Lake Louise - contrasting conditions

Discussion:

Parked at the Chateau parking lot (only half plowed), and headed up on Fairview. Very nice conditions on yesterday's tracksetting. The few steep downhills were no problem with the slightly soft snow. Then we arrived at MLR. No recent tracksetting, so we followed in the skier trackset in some 10-15cm snow. Wobbly, soft, and quite slow, but manageable. The downhill return required polling except in the steepest sections. So MLR was a lot of work today. Enjoyed the return on Fairview to the parking lot. 0C to start; +2C at 2pm finish.
