Skied Fairview to Moraine Lake Road and back. Lake Louise parking lot was plowed! That's something I don't take for granted anymore, after last week. In fact, when we arrived around noon, we were the only car in the upper lot. That was a first. Lot is icy though, so be careful when walking (especially in cross country ski boots - I think someone could make a lot of money if they invented boots with good treads...).

Saw the groomer 4 or 5 times as he was working Fairview on his various grooming passes. He does great work and works hard at it. I really do appreciate his efforts. By the time you read this, Fairview will have been completely groomed and trackset. Snow was thick and fluffy, but you can feel larger pieces of ice mixed in. It's a solid base, though. Areas under trees seemed to be prone to large chunks of icy snow bombs. Grooming took care of some of them, but they can catch you by surprise. Hills were fast.

Moraine Lake Road was completely groomed and trackset - superb conditions, though the rightmost track on the way up was soft in quite a few spots.

Not a busy day on either trail. Fairview tracks will be great once they set tonight, but because of the ice mixed in, they may be a touch fast if we don't get the expected snowfall.

Temperature was about -13 the whole time, no wind to speak of.
