Dolomite Circuit, Sunday May 2.
Great conditions right now for high alpine ski tours. Powder skiing, not so much. After a good freeze on Saturday night the snow was mostly bulletproof for the climb to Dolomite Pass. Today was a mix of sun and cloud, very warm when the sun appeared with absolutely no wind, (very different from Friday when the wind was near hurricane force). Once over the col on the north side of Dolomite Peak, the skiing was excellent in the warm sun. After we descended into the trees and neared the Mosquito Creek Valley the snow was close to isothermic, but not too difficult. The trail out along Mosquito Creek was packed and fast.
