Discussion:

It's been such an unusual start to the winter. We are usually skiing on trackset trails in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park well before other places except Lake Louise.

I had planned on skiing Skogan Pass but changed my plans upon seeing on Nordic Pulse this morning that some trails in PLPP were trackset.

I parked at Boulton Creek and headed up Whiskey Jack on excellent conditions. There were no significant hazards at all. At the top, Pocaterra both north and south was also trackset and in excellent shape.

The temperature was -10, so it was an easy blue wax day. There was no wind and I hope it stays that way overnight. I was surprised at the blowing snow and cold weather upon returning to Calgary

I encountered Dylan in the snowcat at the Tyrwhitt, Lookout, Pocaterra junction. He had groomed Tyrwhitt, Lookout and Hydroline. Don't quote me, but I believe Hydroline is trackset. Jody will be working the evening shift and if all goes according to plan, we should see tracksetting on Elk Pass tomorrow.

Check Nordic Pulse and the PLPP trail report in the morning to see what all was accomplished.

Upper Pocaterra

First tracks on Whiskey Jack

Tyrwhitt is groomed only, not trackset

The snowcat arrives at the Pocaterra, Lookout, Tyrwhitt junction

Dylan was piloting the Pisten-Bully today

Watch out for wildlife on the road
