Lake Louise Upper Trails Update

Discussion:

Thanks to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Winter Trail Team for the following update:

> The Fairview Loop (#2) was Double trackset Jan. 4th.
The trail is in good condition.

> Shoreline (#4) was Double trackset Jan. 4th.
The trail is in good condition.

> Lake Trail (#4) was Packed Jan. 4th.
The recent snow fall has caused the *slush to return and the trail is in poor condition.
The team has exposed what they can and anticipant it to freeze overnight.

>Upper Telemark and Peyto Trails (#5 & #7) were last double trackset Dec. 24th.
The trail is in poor condition.
The team hopes to work on it tomorrow afternoon (Jan. 5th) in the AM along with the lake.



*Anytime we get a new snow fall the weight of the snow forces the ice down enough for water to pool on top of it, regardless of the ice thickness (it's safe!).
It will not freeze until it is exposed to cold air, so this will always be an ongoing issue and something to keep in mind anytime you cross a lake.
