Discussion:

The Healy Creek trail from the Sunshine Road is snowmobile packed only. No trackset. Excellent snow base with fast speed snow. Some tree debris. Some reasonable skate skiing.

The Brewster Creek trail is trackset and snowmobile packed. Excellent snow base. Fast skiing right up to Sundance Lodge and fast skiing coming back at night. Some snowmobile rutting on the snowmobile track. The trackset was smooth, firm and fast. Many hills I could pole up or skate up. Coming down the big hills was a major ski rush with some killer fast skiing in the corners. I likely hit speeds of at least 85 kph in some areas and hung on for dear life on some corners. It would be nice if the snowmobiles would knock down some vertical "bobsled style" walls on the steep hills in some areas and widen the track so more speed could be carried safely.

On the way up I took the old horse trail short cut. It has an excellent snow base for climbing up only. No rocks. No grip with my Swix V30 wax as the new snow on top of the base was like skiing on roller bearings.

Beyond Sundance Lodge for about 1 km snowshoers and hikers pummelled the trail. After 1 km there is skier tracked snow well beyond the old trappers cabin. My Swix Blue V30 minus 5c to minus 10c old snow wax was useless on the old ski track as I could get no grip. The few centimeters of new snow that fell in the last week was like skiing on super slick roller bearings, even on my way out. The trail should improve after it sets and hardens in the next 24 hours.
