Last night I send out a grooming report for the Upper trails at Lake Louise and today I received another update from Groomer Jeff. How the conditions have changed in 24 hours…

Hi All!

Below is an update of the Nordic Ski and Snowshoe trails that surround the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

+5c at 8am at the boathouse this morning and +2c as I type this with wind guests above 50KPH. Lots of debris and needles all over the trails and it too warm to work on them effectively. The Lake is slushy with water pooling in places and exposed bare ice throughout. All trails will be soft snow with rough patches and debris, once it freezes everything will be VERY icy. Conditions will be tough until we get more snow.

Nordic Ski Trails:

Fairview Loop (#2): Double trackset, Feb. 9. Fair condition with debris throughout.

Shoreline (#4): Double trackset, Feb. 3. Poor condition.

Lake Trail (#4): Double trackset with a separate walking path, Feb. 9. Fair condition with icy patches and water pooling in places.

Upper Telemark and Peyto Trails (#5&#7): Double trackset, Feb. 2. Poor condition.
