Better News - Lake Louise Upper Trails

Below is an update of the Nordic Ski and Snowshoe trails that surround the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

After our prolonged drought and un-workable icy conditions the area received 8cm of wet snow today (Feb. 19). It provided just enough snow to work with, although it's still easy to find and feel the melt/freeze crust under your feet. Work has begun and will take some time to catch up, happy skiing!


Fairview Loop (#2):
Double trackset, Feb. 19.
Good condition.
Any part of the trail that is in dense forest can still be a little rough and icy, especially if there were tree bombs from the recent blast of April-like weather. A fall anywhere will not be soft and forgiving.

Shoreline (#4):
Poor condition .
Will work on this next week.

Lake Trail (#4):
Double trackset with a separate walking path, Feb. 19.
Good condition.

Upper Telemark and Peyto Trails (#5&#7):
Poor condition.
Will work on this next week.
