Discussion:

Pleasantly surprised to find travel conditions so good on the Yoho Road.
We have postponed visiting the area this year as we knew that Joe has not even groomed it yet. Fortunately, all the back country skiers have packed a good trail, seemingly all the way to the Stanley Mitchell Hut.
I hope a precedent is not being set, giving Parks Canada an excuse not to trackset it next year.
Another spectacular area for all of us to enjoy!

In previous years this was trackset to the Switchbacks

Popular ice climbing routes

We only went as far as the first avalanche chutes

Backcountry skiers love the slopes off Mt. Field

I think twice before dropping back down off the switchbacks here!

I'll be back.

Hey Chuck,

You can expect Parks Canada to cut back on tracksetting. The Liberal Government seems to have plans to start charging for xc skiing in 2023 as per Parks Canada website information. The website is a little vague but that is the signal I am getting. The Liberals will likely follow the lead of the UCP in the Kananaskis. If there are not xc skiing fees, the government may go for parking fees.

Tax grabs are everywhere these days along with a loss of government services.
