Started at Lookout parking lot at 11:30 a.m. -7C big blue sky and even bigger sunshine.
Tracks were surprisingly good for the almost week old grooming. The first km west of Lookout (under the trees) is a bit crusty with needles but not horrible. After that it was white and crisp snow with tracks still quite firm other than the very wind exposed areas along the train track east of Protection Mountain and along hydroline leading up to Baker Creek.
Snack stop in one of the Baker Creek Chalets red chairs, with no wind and absolutely nobody around.
Beautiful day, fast snow which made the return really fun! The snow was starting to soften up/glazing with the sun towards the end at 2:00 p.m. (-4C)
