Hey JoLynn,
Now there's an honest report... but who in their right mind would bother going out.
Suggest you read SkierRoger's website before heading out next time!

Using the “tree scrape” method for knocking of sticky clumps of snow

Discussion:

Skier Roger and I headed out to the Lake Louise area today in search of snow…it was +11 when we left Calgary! The rain started around Canmore, but thankfully, the temp gradually dropped so that it turned to snow between Banff and Lake Louise. It was 0 degrees C and snowing when we started on the Fairview trail from the Chateau Lk Louise parking lot. Fairview was skier track set and quite nice at first, but it wasn’t long before I was skiing with “hikerRoger”, as the snow was sticking in clumps on his skis, (waxed with Vauhti red +1 to -2 C). My skin skis fared much better and didn’t give me too much trouble on Fairview and Moraine Lake Rd, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGWVevivXJ8 but Tramline back to the Lake Louise Parking lot was so sticky, we hiked the whole thing on our skis. The weather and snowy scenery was gorgeous, but the temp needs to get just a little colder, which I’m sure it will soon!

Me and a Tree

Skin skis still gliding nicely

Moraine Lake Road. Not as fast as previous days due to the new, wet snow

Tramline nicely skier tracked
