"Resources revenues being extracted from Kananaskis Country far exceed the cost to maintain it. There is all sorts of logging, hydrocarbon extraction, mining and hydropower generation being produced in Kananaskis Country and that is where the revenues to facilitate operations should be coming from"

Exactly!!!

That KCPEO vehicle paint job must be a previous/first design. The paint job on the vehicle that caught me using the outhouse at Grotto Pond was a much splashier, multicoloured extravaganza that ran on an angle across both doors on both sides. The vehicle itself was the same white. Your tax $ at work!

If you go shopping to Trail Sports without a United Conservative Party Kananaskis Country entrance tax fee permit, then you can get a ticket.

I spotted one of those Kananaskis Enforcement vehicles parked in downtown canmore on Weds this week and thought that's a fancy vehicle....parked in Canmore. Maybe they were headed up to Mt Shark looking for rebels in that parking lot.

Hello Septuagenarians,

Thanks for your intel sighting report. That was very smart to report on.

The United Conservative Party enforcement car in the picture is an example of some of the wasteful spending of the United Conservative Party (UCP) Kananaskis Country entrance fee tax dollars going to waste for no good or smart reason. Having specialize vehicles and drivers wasting money looking for people walking around without a UCP Kananaskis Country taxing pass is what wasteful spending looks like. If we lived in a real democracy where people rule, this sort of UCP nonsense would not be occurring.

We need more Conservation Officers in this Province to control illegal activities, such as poaching or land, air and water abuses, not clowns driving around looking for someone walking on crown land without a paid tax permit. The land belongs to the people and we should not be taxed to travel on our own land. But because we do not live in a democracy, this is what is occurring.

The amount of money being wasted by the UCP from sucking money out of people with the UCP Kananaskis Country Entrance Tax Fee is absurd. Millions of dollars are being turn into "yellow snow". There is a great lack of UCP accountability and the friends of the Conservatives are some of the target beneficiaries of the wasteful spending. In a real democracy, friends of politicians will not easily get away with your tax dollars like they do now.

Resources revenues being extracted from Kananaskis Country far exceed the cost to maintain it. There is all sorts of logging, hydrocarbon extraction, mining and hydropower generation being produced in Kananaskis Country and that is where the revenues to facilitate operations should be coming from, not from your wallet. These resources revenues should not all be going into general revenue where the Province has accumulated billions in an over taxing surplus. A portion should be directed to the Kananaskis. Excessive surplus money in government hands shows improper economic management, particularly when it is from the wallets of the people.

Premier Lougheed created Kananaskis and it was once apart of the now extinct Alberta Advantage. Every leader in this Province, in the past, respected the fact people should be able to walk on crown lands freely. Even the NDP- not democratic party. The United Conservative Party changed that because they truly are not about Freedom contrary to their marketing slogan. They want total control and what is in your wallet.

Legalizing real democracy is the only cure to the bad conservative oligarchy government that has been in rule in Alberta since 1971 with the exception of 4 years. They have been in power almost as long as I have been going down mountains on skis. That is too long.

The time for real democracy is now. Return the control of the crown lands back to the people to walk freely on them- universally.

The two of us.

Discussion:

A rare sighting! After asking the KCPEO (Kananaskis Conservation Pass Enforcement Officer) we think that anyone that was at WBC today has until midnight tonight to purchase a pass to avoid getting a ticket. We are pretty sure we purchased ours, but are going to check our records.
