We skied a similar route there yesterday and it exceeded expectations- conditions were very good with almost none of the "early season hazards" mentioned by PC. The "Yoho Blow" clouds and winds were creeping over the divide by the time we got to the meadows at the far end, making for nice sparkles in the afternoon sun, but also drifting in the tracks a bit.

Discussion:

We skied Pipestone - did the loop counter-clockwise with a side trip to Mud Lake. After skiing down Pipestone we used Drummond to ski over to Merlin, up Merlin and then back down Pipestone, finishing up on Hector. Except for one very small dirty spot on one of the Pipestone steep sections the skiing was excellent. The track setting looked new and was very good. I used Blue (V40) and had good grip in the cold to start (-14C) and it held up all day. As mentioned we didn't see any evidence of rocks, water, etc. as described in the Lake Louise ski conditions on the parks report.
