I can always count on you to get out on the freshly laid xc ski tracksets.
Thanks for your report. Hopefully skiers have broken the trail to the Ball Pass campground and beyond as well. This will be my next ski trip when I get a day off from collecting 9000 registration signatures to start the new Legalize Real Democracy Party.
I encouraged the ACC in an email to snowmobile pack the hills wider where I had ski sidestepped the trail earlier in the season to make it easier for less experienced skiers to have a more enjoyable ski down. By the sounds of your report they did and this should benefit the ACC with more skier visits in the future. What goes around comes around and this is good ski karma.

Much better conditions than expected!
Alex has done an amazing tracksetting job and has widened the trail from previous years where possible. Once past the first climb from the parking lot, the snow condition improved quickly.
Normand and other SkierRoger skiers will be glad to know that some guests did ski up to Gibbon Pass, so the trail is broken above the Lodge!
In case you are making a booking to stay, you will be glad to know that guests really liked the culinary delights provided by Chef Jason.
Sorry Helen, no lost sun glasses found.
We used climbing skins for the first few kms
We soon met delighted guests coming down from the first open weekend at Shadow Lake Lodge
Note that there are a few avalanche paths to cross on this trail
Staff also come out from a successful first weekend
So many Snowshoe Hare tracks this year... Suitable for the Chinese Year of the Rabbit!
