Did the owner get reunited with their skis? Somebody could also have taken them to the VIC or pocaterra hut.

What happened to those skis? Someone is asking about them this morning, on the Facebook page!

Nice playing leapfrog with you. Great spring picnic weather at the top! Heading home on our waxables, we encountered some sudden accelerations in refrozen spots, but very little grabbiness. VR 45 worked "well enough" through to the finish.

Windless days like this are rare on Blueberry!

Discussion:

-15 to start at 930, +4 on return to the car at 330. Things are starting to be slick in the morning with the heat of recent days. Some back slipping with the fishscales on fox and elk pass trails in the AM. First meadow of the day was the “bonus meadow”, entered from elk pass trail between Patterson and blueberry junctions (head north). A good option in the morning when the picnic table is shady, busy with people, or you are just dying for some tea and a biscuit in the sun. Ankle ski pens. Second meadow option: lower blueberry meadows, entered via blueberry on the first S-curve (essentially the lower entry point), eventually hitting prior track from the upper entry point (probably T&S’s track I’m guessing?). A bit glazed and noisy in the morning. Headed straight to the west elk meadow junction and the route to the hydroline. Same noisy glazing. Returned the same way with a smoother track from travel and more warmth. Had a bit of icing on the fishscales here and there by 1230, so headed up blueberry for colder meadow snow. Played a bit of hop scotch heading up with the Riggs and friends. Some more scraping required and an application of glide wax. 4th meadow was the upper blueberry meadows to the cul-de-sac for another sit. Colder snow 500 ft above west elk meadows. Blueberry hills were a bit slick on descent and easy to pick up too much speed that needed scrubbing (had to use a snow bank once). A pleasant cruise on return down elk pass grooming and fox creek with some more significant moisture in the usual spots, but not so grabby as to instantly face plant, just some catch and release to prepare for. All in all another glorious sunny day off and on the grooming.

Somebody left their skis at the trail head overnight

Upper blueberry meadow and mount sarrail

Doing it right in the upper blueberry meadow cul-de-sac with an “insta-couch” and mount fox in sight.
