Sorry conditions weren't great. I was worried about having to hike our skis both up and down the first part and was nervous about the potential sun crust so we stuck with our plan to ski at Emerald Lake. Tracks were icy but skiable, the trail was freshly groomed, and it was a bluebird day so we were happy.

Howdy Chuck,

I had a good laugh at your ski report.

I was waiting for Skier Roger to load up on my old computer when I decided to check out the Mosquito (Alarm) which is used to get rid of younger people at protests or in other situations due to sound frequencies they put out. Then I switched pages to Skier Roger and found your ski report from "Mosquito Creek - the good part no mosquitos". Get it? I got a good laugh!

MOSQUITO CREEK - The good part... No Mosquitos!

Discussion:

Even though we picked a higher elevation trail, conditions were not great. There was a lot of tree debris in the forest, but once out in the open, the views made up for it all.
We used light touring skis, with skins for the ascent, and metal edges for the descent.

Another beautiful route

Avalanche report does not mention river danger!

Enjoying the views

The freeze thaw cycle has made the snow quite supportive!

Looks like winter campers had a good fire.
