Discussion:

Originally, we planned to ski the Ribbon Creek area, but as we approached Kananaskis Village the outside temperature just wouldn't move above +2 degrees. With that, we continued on to PLPP. Either way, we knew we were in for some recently trackset trails. Thanks to all the groomers for their hard work and dedication!

We arrived at the Elk Pass parking lot to -3 degrees. Perfect!

I was surprised to see an almost full parking lot on this Thursday morning. We skied Elk Pass & Hydroline and based on Helen Yuen's Tuesday report (thanks Helen), we also skied Fox Creek which was just gorgeous. The conditions were very good.

Despite these warm temperatures, the snow pack at PLPP continues to be very good. My blue wax worked very nicely throughout most of the day. I did have some slippage towards the day's end (at lower elevations and warmer temperatures). Jody's skin skis worked well with only the occasional slip. She also experienced some sticking, resulting in a small wipeout towards the day's end.

It was wonderful to visit with so many folks. Keith, Chuck, Jeannette, Helen Read and many others...
