Discussion:

We arrived at the Chateau parking area at 10am to -4C and cloudy skies. First car in the east end of the lot. Headed up Fairview - very nice tracks, occasional icy feel in the more sun-exposed areas. Two steep downhills in the last 1.5km before MLR were a bit rutted and nail-biting, but otherwise Fairview was very good. We then headed up MLR in very good tracks, and while we all re-waxed to VR45 or VR50 at some point, we had a comfortable ski to the top. As we ate lunch (now 0C), the sun started to make an occasional appearance, and while the tracks remained good, the loose snow in the skating area started to get a bit sticky. We returned to the base of MLR - the steep downhills were a bit slow, but generally good glide and a comfortable ski. We returned via Upper Tramline to the parking lot - good tracks here too. +3C and somewhat sunny at the end. Should be good for a few days yet.
