Discussion:

It was a great day for this classic tour taking in both north and south Burstall Passes, with fast skiing on firm snow and crusts, in 4-5 cm of morning powder that turned wet everywhere below treeline in the afternoon. Crusts were found on all aspects up to our highpoint on the ridge above south Burstall at 2500 m, which made for less than ideal turns but fast travel on supportive snow, other than in the more shaded trees where the crust was of the breakable variety. The gully exit was firmly packed and more challenging than usual.
