-6 to start at 8 and a slight dusting of new, -3 on return at 3. The recent grooming is excellent. Good solid fast tracks. The track to west elk pass and south through to hydroline is also in good shape now that it’s seen a bit more travel. No longer an awkward trench. Should travel well with all manner of skis, but big baskets would still come in handy. The wind wall at Couch HQ is growing. The current couch seats 4, as proven by today’s visitors. Went over to check out east elk pass again. Still terrible trail breaking back there so didn’t extend the track further. Went back down the hydroline towards elk lakes to link up with the west elk meadows for a second couch visit. Snowmobile tracks under the power line right over the ski track. Likely to be more common as it seems there is a new trap line in the area.
