Discussion:

Great snow with -7C at 9:30AM to start and -3C at end.
However - there is a minor problem on the Old Quarry Loop section where the river has flooded in the last few days (now receded) and there is 30m of ice and ice chunks to avoid (detoured around most of it but the last 5m we had to carefully step or remove skis).
To clarify the loop: when Northbound on the East Spray Trail continue north (do not take the traditional walk down the switchbacks to get to the bridge back to the west side) to the bottom of the second short straight "steep" hill and turn left (there are signs at this junction). Ski this left trail down some narrow bendy trails (only half snowplow possible)to the Old Quarry Loop Trail. Turn left and head upstream (about 700m) along the mainly snowshoe and boot packed trail to the bridge back to the west side and the climb to the Spray West Trail.
