Checked the weather forecast & decided to stay in the city.
After weeks of deep freeze; getting a spring-like day on January 2nd was such a great gift!
Skied from home into the Weaslehead and up to the new ring-road bridge across the Elbow river. Choose a new variation on the classic oxbow tour to successfully avoid the crowds who were out enjoying the day as well. Spent most of the day - just us and the birds - enjoying the glorious sunshine and icing sugar snow. By mid-afternoon the temperature had risen to above zero and the snow on the southern slopes was turning into snowball snow; but we were well on our way home by then... having thoroughly enjoyed several hours of wonderful skiing. A Swix Blue Wax day all the way. It's going to be hard to top this day again in 2022! - but we are sure going to try.
