It was a delightful minus 5 degrees when we arrived at the Elk Pass parking lot around noon. Although Fox Creek hasn't had recent grooming, it skied well. It's always scenic, and the falling snow only made it more beautiful. Snow accumulation was increasing as we ascended Elk Pass. Tyrwhitt's new grooming had 1 or 2 cm of fresh snow covering it. We could feel the temperature cooling as we descended from Tyrwhitt's high point. Fortunately we had an extra layer to put on.
We had planned on skiing Moraine, but without packing/grooming,opted for Boulton.
Temperature at 4 pm had fallen to minus 20 at Elk Pass parking.
