Discussion:

Conditions in the Cascade River valley were much better than my last couple of days (Ribbon yesterday and WBC the day before). There was about a half a cm dusting of fresh snow. The tracks are still decent. There is way less of an issue with needles and assorted tree debris (almost none) here unlike Ribbon and WBC (see today's report and picture below). It was still pretty warm out there, around +4 so there was some clumping when going slow (up hill) but fortunately going down was fine and the flats were reasonable as long as one kept moving. I was using waxless skis. Apparently wolves like to walk on the track setting but fortunately they don't wreck it much.
