Moraine Lake Road - roll packed this morning

We arrived just before 10am (Thursday) and roll packing was under way (thanks Parks Canada!). The compacted snow was about 3cm deep, so poles definitely strike through (roller ski tips could be a good idea). Classic skied up 9kms on V45/VR50 kick wax. Turned around at the avalanche danger sign- because of thinner snow coverage. Some mixed precipitation was falling, but no significant new accumulation. Better conditions than I expected; really quite good if you can be gentle with your classic kick.
