MLR - slow solo freshies

From yesterday Fri afternoon Oct 28
- temps steady all day within a narrow band around 0 degrees at all elevations of the road.
- 7 to 18+ cms fresh snow, generally moist, with a thin base of wet slop near the bottom and drier snow near surface
- expect ski bases to get down to the underlying wet slush along thin stretches, esp at the 2 main curves on the road; skins likely to ice up; wax worked well but bring a scrapper for icing up!
- recommend gaiters; also wider skis if possible
- click-click-clicking of poles regularly striking the pavement, although a bit less so higher up after the big S-bend/ km 4
- tire tracks from last vehicle in & out evident and snowed over

Today, Saturday, slightly milder temps and windy.
