Discussion:
A bit late but felt this report is warranted.
After completing the seemingly never-ending southern climb up to the fire lookout, we encountered a male Spruce Grouse on our return leg at the Lynx/Pocaterra junction.
It seems the bird considered Rossignol skis and boots unacceptable as he completely ignored my friend Nick with his Fischer skis and boots.
Go figure?!
Total distance: 26.00 Km

Perhaps the Spruce Grouse was defending territory from other birds. Rossignol is French for nightingale.

Oh mercy! It looks as though you managed to escape with only ankle pecks. Traumatizing nevertheless.
