Glad to get back from a spring vacation on the coast in time for this annual pilgrimage on a spectacular day!
We used AT skis to enjoy a few turns on the very supportive snowpack. Travel at lower elevations near the highway is boring, but also very supportive.
The good news is... more snow is in the forecast... Enjoy!
Views open up as you come out of the forest
Ross shows off the excellent conditions
No Lunch... No Pack!
Love this old sign
How far shall we go?
Top of South Molar Pass may be a bit much!
Enjoy the descent on the return

Yes Diana, the trail starts up through the trees. We did use skins on the way up, which makes it easy on the well worn trail. It is a bit of a pain on the return without skins, because the trail undulates. However, the spectacular scenery and good snow once out of the trees makes it all well worthwhile.

Great photos of the Mosquito Creek valley. You always hit the best weather/conditions. (hinting on my recent Healy Pass experience, haha).
I recognize Ramp Peak in one of your photos. A worthwhile trip.

Oh, Chuck, that looks fantastic!
I haven't been there for decades, but remember a very tricky beginning to that trail, up through the trees. Is that how you started?
