All these avalanches came down on Tuesday, the day we changed our plans and went to Boom Lake where we could stay away from avalanche danger!
This was a great opportunity to benefit from Joe's final gift of tracksetting on the Yoho Road... Thank you KHSC.
Conditions were crusty to start and softened up nicely as the day progressed. Again, my favoured wax was all I needed for this gentle tour.
I was the only one who went to Takakkaw Falls, but there were lots of backcountry skiers skiing the slopes of Mt. Field.
Not as impressive as in summer, but nice to be able to ski across the outlet for better views
Starting up the Yoho Road
No wonder tracksetting stops before the switchbacks!
I have never seen so many huge avalanches crossing the Yoho Road!
The Iceline looks beautiful... for a summer trip
That green thing on the right is the top of the outhouse for the newly renovated warden cabin!
