Discussion:

I quickly scanned the SpotWx website for a 10 day snow forecast. Here is what it shows:

Lake Louise is projected to get a skiff of snow starting Monday and all areas are forecast to get some significant volumes of snow beginning next Sunday.

Kananaskis country is expected to see lots of sun Monday to Wednesday.

Let's see if SpotWx knows what it's talking about...

Hi Roger,

Looking at the Pacific Satellite map on the Environment Canada Banff Weather office site, it looks like we could get hit with a jet stream by Wednesday. Normally this south westerly flow would hit us but with climate nutiness these days anything could happen. I have been following satellite maps for probably 40 years now for deep powder, backpacking, and farming purposes, and the weather is getting trickier to predict every year. If the jet stream does hit us, we will get some snow, potentially an upslope system, but the jet looks like it will sag below us giving colder winter like temperatures late in the week. This will require a shift back to green wax.

Snow sweepstakes are a challenge to predict and win!
