I started off at the Elk Pass parking lot at around 9:45 and my car said -2°. With my bindings set all the way to the front for maximum fishscale grip, I started up on the brand new grooming…I think I was the first skier on 90% of today’s journey. The snow was slidey, but the dusting of new snow over last night’s grooming also provided a good grip for the big climb up Elk Pass, Hydroline, and South Lookout. The big hill down from Lookout to Tyrwhitt was very doable (and rewarding after all that climbing!), and Tyrwhitt wasn’t fast but was very enjoyable. It had started snowing quite hard by the time I made my way back down Hydroline, and the tracks were very slow and a bit sticky where the snow had accumulated. Skiing outside the tracks was much faster and more enjoyable, and the big hills down Hydroline and Elk Pass were a lot of fun. It was somewhere around 4 or 5° when I got back to the car just after 12:30.

Total distance: 18.00 Km

I made it to the Tyrwhitt meadows!
