Discussion:

I skied all the trails on the south side of highway 546 at Sandy McNabb, plus a section of the Long Prairie Loop with my skin skis. It was an awesome choice. The trails were beautifully track set (especially great conditions along Logger’s Connector and Sandy McNabb Connector). The temperature ranged from -9C this morning to 5C around 1 p.m. The snow softened as I skied, as expected, but I did not suffer any inconveniences. I don’t know how skiers with wax skis managed. Most trails are holding up quite well. A few short sections along the south side of the Sandy McNabb loop are starting to suffer from the direct sun exposure. The trees are mostly free of snow, therefore there were no snow bombs, and negligible debris on the trails!

It was fun to encounter a school group on snowshoes (not on the cross-country ski trails), three friendly women from Okotoks, as well as a school group from Millarville cross-country skiing.
