A quick ski around West Crystal-Sundog and East Crystal between 4 and 5 this afternoon in an air temperature of plus 5, found very good but variable snow conditions ranging from dry and still a bit powdery, to damp, to glazed. Nothing that I would really call icy, yet. The skiing was fast and enjoyable, with my Swix VR60 grip wax working well, as were Jo's skin skis. In perfect glazed tracks- the long gradual descent on East Crystal was exhilarating! Steeper downhills were quite firm, but still controllable. With Jackrabbits wrapping up for the winter, that's the last of my late afternoon Friday updates.
